Pemi-Baker Community Health is looking to fill a Part time Hospice Bereavement Coordinator / Hospice Spiritual Care Counselor position. This position is an integral part of the Hospice Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) and assists individuals by attending to the grief and loss needs of hospice patients and their families as well as supporting their spiritual needs and goals.
The applicant must be detail oriented, well organized, communicate well and be a team player. Qualification include a minimum of 5 years experience as a Hospice Spiritual Care Counselor or another related role, is currently endorsed by and is in good standing with the requirements of his/her own denomination or faith group, has assessment, interpersonal, ethical and pastoral skills as well as a personal commitment to a maturing spiritual life, must have knowledge and experience in bereavement services and risk assessments associated with grief, complicated grief, suicide and loss, has, or is willing to work towards certification in grief counseling. Spiritual Counselors ideally have earned a graduate level theological degree from a college, university or theological school accredited by a member of the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or an equivalent graduate degree that includes theological studies. The Hospice Bereavement Coordinator ideally is a professional with training in one of the psychosocial or spiritual care disciplines, with a minimum of a bachelor’s degree .
